Elimination of Goods Services Tax

WHEREAS the federal government is reported to be considering the elimination of the payment of GST by municipalities, school districts, universities and other similar public bodies as an interim measure while consideration is given to sharing fuel tax revenue with local governments: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities support the immediate and permanent elimination of GST payments by municipalities, school districts, universities and other similar bodies.
