John Rustad promises $1B infrastructure funding for BC communities

BC Conservative leader John Rustad has committed his party to implementing a program that will deliver $1 billion in provincial funding to local governments each year for a decade. Mr. Rustad also said that his government would seek a federal matching component to the program. Rustad committed to work with BC governments to accelerate housing delivery through pre-zoning and said he would roll back Bill 44, which empowers the provincial oversight for local housing decisions. The Conservative leader also indicated his government would work with the federal government to address repeat offenders.
