Local Government Act Modernization

Whereas regional district electoral areas are experiencing increasing impacts from growth and urbanization creating expectations and demands for services and powers that are only available to municipalities under the Community Charter; And whereas the Local Government Act continues to limit the capacity of regional districts to address evolving community expectations and demands: Therefore be it resolved that the Province be requested to initiate a comprehensive review of the Local Government Act specifically relating to regional district powers and authority.
