Offshore Oil Gas Exploration Production

WHEREAS in the event of an offshore oil spill the negative effects on British Columbias shellfish aquaculture, fisheries and tourism sectors would not be worth the short term economic gains made from offshore and gas exploration and production: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the UBCM, through the Province of British Columbia, ensure that the federal government maintain and strengthen a moratorium on oil exploration and production off the coast of British Columbia.
