Emergency Management Training

WHEREAS the BC Association of Emergency Managers was unable to secure grant funding for emergency management training for the 20102011 fiscal year despite the withdrawal of sponsored training from the Provincial Emergency Program budget in March 2009; AND WHEREAS it is imperative that all local governments have access to emergency management training in order to respond to emergency situations and safeguard the lives and property of the people of British Columbia: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the UBCM urge the Solicitor General to reinstate core funding for emergency management training.
