Provincial Grant Decision Notifications

WHEREAS considerable effort is made by local governments to apply for grants under a variety of provincial funding programs with strict application deadlines; AND WHEREAS planning and budgeting for projects affected by these grants is put on hold pending provincial decisions about the applications which are often subject to a considerable delay: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that UBCM lobby the provincial government to impose strict response guidelines for each funding ministry so that decisions and notification to applicants are made in a timely manner.
