WHEREAS numerous forestry-dependent BC coastal communities are in dire economic environments; AND WHEREAS it is firmly believed that the BC Interior Pine Beetle infestation has contributed to the Coasts economic predicament: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Union of BC Municipalities petition the BC Ministry of Forests and Range to review and, if required, mitigate the coastal impact of the Pine Beetle.
