Request for BC Air Ambulance Service at Tumbler Ridge Airport

WHEREAS the Council of the District of Tumbler Ridge is concerned that, when requested, the British Columbia Air Ambulance Service aircraft will not land at the Tumbler Ridge airport; AND WHEREAS medical patients must then be transported by vehicle to Dawson Creek airport, a distance of 120 kilometres; AND WHEREAS the Province of Alberta air ambulance, whenever required, does provide air ambulance service to medical patients at the Tumbler Ridge airport: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities request that the Minister of Health direct that the British Columbia Air Ambulance Service aircraft, when required during a medical emergency, land at the Tumbler Ridge airport so that medical patients can embark there.
