Emergency First Response

WHEREAS local government fire departments throughout British Columbia provide emergency medical assistance through the authority of the Health Emergency Act; AND WHEREAS BC Ambulance protocols are preventing some emergency medical calls from being dispatched to fire departments first responders: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities request that the Province amend the Health Emergency Act to require the BC Ambulance Service to automatically advise local fire departments when dispatching emergency health service calls.
