WHEREAS the provincial government, through PEP, has ensured financial support after disasters occur; AND WHEREAS local governments may foresee potential Acts of God but do not have the funds to avert them: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities prepare a policy paper on land slippage and stabilization that would help protect and decrease liability to all local governments.
