Small Communities Infrastructure Needs

WHEREAS the cost of infrastructure works is comparable in all municipalities in British Columbia; AND WHEREAS small communities in British Columbia do not have the population base andor assessment upon which to gain financial stability to undertake infrastructure works within their communities: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities submit that consideration be given to prioritizing infrastructure grant funds to small communities within British Columbia and the federal, provincial and municipal guidelines be restructured to recognize this need and commit to addressing small communities needs.
