WHEREAS the economic stability of the Province of British Columbia depends on its resources; AND WHEREAS the current moratorium on offshore oil and gas restricts potential development of a coastal resource: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities call upon the Priddle Panel to recommend to the Government of Canada the lifting of the federal moratorium on offshore oil and gas.
