RCMP-based Victim Services

Whereas the Provincial Police-Based Victim Services Program provides a valuable operational support service to police across the province; And whereas the Province provides 50 of the program funding to each community, expecting the local governments to provide the other 50; And whereas this voluntary funding model has resulted in funding and service provision gaps and disparity: Therefore be it resolved that UBCM work with the Province to create a mandatory funding formula for local governments, whose residents benefit from the RCMP-based Victim Services, to fund their portion.
