WHEREAS the conservation and preservation of our heritage is vitally important to our society; AND WHEREAS new development often takes place in an area where heritage homes and properties once stood; AND WHEREAS new development should contribute financially towards the preservation of our history and heritage through public acquisition of selected sites: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the provincial government be petitioned to amend section 9332b of the Local Government Act by adding the words and heritage conservation sites at the end of that clause.
