Ensuring Local Government Financial Resiliency
The Select Committee on Local Government Finance has issued its August 2021 report entitled:
Ensuring Local Government Financial Resiliency - Today's Recovery and Tomorrow's New Economy
The report forms the basis of Policy Paper #1 for debate at the 2021 Convention, and is included in Policy Book 1.
Ensuring Local Government Financial Resiliency focuses on cost-drivers for three key areas: Attainable Housing; Community Safety; and Climate Change. The Committee felt this approach would address the three biggest cost-drivers for local governments, and also identify potential solutions to priority issues that were common to both local governments and the Province.
The Committee also produced produced four summary documents for key elements of the report:
- Executive Summary [PDF - 1 MB]
- Summary of Recommendations [PDF - 760 KB]
- Addressing Cost-Drivers
- Expanded Policy Options for Attainable Housing, Community Safety, Climate Change [PDF - 442 KB]
