Universal Child Care Plan

WHEREAS affordable, quality early childhood education and child care should be accessible to all children in our BC communities; AND WHEREAS we know that without a firm commitment to a universal child care plan by both senior levels of government, access will not be achieved on an equitable basis; AND WHEREAS a universal child care plan will prevent the current situation of a two-tier child care system in BC: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Union of BC Municipalities once again call on the BC government to reinstate universal child care legislation and work with the federal government to commit the necessary resources to implement the legislation.
